Click the Insert tab. Click the Date and Time button. Select a date format. Check the Update automatically check box. If the Update automatically check box isn't checked, the date will be inserted as static text. If it is checked, the date will be inserted as a field that can be updated automatically to reflect the current date. Click OK. On the Insert menu, click Header and Footer. In the Header or Footer sections, click in the Left, Center, or Right sections, depending on where you want the date or time to appear. From the Header & Footer Ribbon menu, click Insert Date or Insert Time. You can also insert the Page Number, Number of Pages, File Path, File Name and Sheet Name.
